GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Performs all tasks and duties related to the PULSAR program within the assigned middle school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS
The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The PULSAR Coordinator must have knowledge of the PULSAR program goals, objectives, and activities. The coordinator must possess strong communication and organizational skills. The coordinator should have concrete knowledge about the developmental levels of children and expected behaviors associated with those levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The PULSAR Coordinator should be a full-time faculty member of Rockingham County Public Schools and trained as a PULSAR leader.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must possess good moral character.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Duties performed typically in school settings to include: classroom; gym, cafeteria; auditorium; and recreational areas. Frequent walking, standing, lifting, up to approximately 30 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required. Other limited physical activities are required. Occasional travel with students on field trips may be necessary. Overnight travel to a retreat site with limited facilities for 48 hours will be required twice a year. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards. Occasional movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required. Close contact with children to provide behavior management and learning environment support is required. Regular contact with other assigned trainers, volunteers, and parents is required. Occasional contact with medical professionals may be required.
