GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Provides technical support for the PowerSchool student information system; provides training and problem-solving support to all administrative PowerSchool users.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS
The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability and professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school and central office personnel. The ability to diagnose and solve issues related to performance of the division's student information system. The ability to deliver articulate oral presentations during training sessions. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, teachers, and administrators. The ability to diagnose and solve computer, peripheral, and network problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess competence in providing PowerSchool support to end users, including the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to the performance of PowerSchool. The candidate should have training and/or experience with school administration software such as PowerSchool.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to provide own transportation to schools throughout the division. Candidate must possess good moral character.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Duties performed typically in school settings to include: offices, computer labs, and classrooms. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, lifting, up to approximately 30 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment such as technology equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds may be required. Frequent operation of a vehicle and office equipment is required. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards. Contact with staff members and administrators is required by phone, e-mail, or in person.
EVALUATION
The Supervisor of Student Information Systems will evaluate performance on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities.
