Welcome from Dr. Leaman

Dear Guest:

I greet you on behalf of the Broadway High School community. The Gobbler spirit continues to be alive and well at our school facility, just off of Springbrook Road. The school community strives to uphold the rich traditions of our past as we fulfill our vision of “working together within a positive atmosphere to provide a foundation for lifelong learning.”
The rural and conservative values of our school community are enhanced with the appreciation of the fine and practical arts. Individual students and school groups receive annual awards as artists, band and choral performers, creative writers, theatrical performers, and yearbook or newspaper journalists.
Involvement in high school athletics brings rewards of scholarship, character, self-discipline, healthy exercise, skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and competition. High school athletics exist because of a love for the game. The pinnacle of high school athletics is the state championship and can be achieved as a team for all sports and individually in others. Sportsmanship is an expectation for each member of our BHS community.
Broadway High School currently meets the Annual Yearly Progress benchmarks of the federal No Child Left Behind legislation and is accredited by the Virginia Department of Education. Our school improvement model is based on the Onward To Excellence process that involves research, collecting data, implementing best practices, and evaluating programs. The teachers in our school strive to use effective instructional strategies that are enhanced with technology to educate our youth to meet the needs of our nation, state, and community.
On behalf of the Broadway High School Community, I invite you to come to the school and visit with us. We are very proud of our school and we continue to seek excellence in our academic and athletic programs. Thank you for your interest and support of Broadway High School. Best wishes for continued prosperity and success as you meet the challenges of life and the future.

                                                    Sincerely,
                                                    Stephen R. Leaman, Ed.D.
